Well, it has been a very busy start to the year. But we are excited as ever. As Google’s Sundar Pichai said, "AI is probably the most important thing humanity has ever worked on. I think of it as something more profound than electricity or fire." So here’s to the biggest year yet! Now, onto bot news...

Deep breath for now. Not much of a revolution, yet. Just an app very similar to the standard WhatsApp, but that allows you to configure your business profile, set up an away message, use WhatsApp with a landline number. In fact, as a small business owner, I’d be disappointed that they didn’t extend the web app to provide better CRM-like functionalities. And, as a large business, I’d obviously expect messaging automation capabilities.
Wow. Really fascinating. In a way, this is one of the purest examples that when faced with hardship, greatness and creativity often emerges. Each of the startup founders mentioned in this article are turning lemons into lemonade. And we love that at the core of it, they’re bringing the humanity back into tech. Evidence that yes, automation is disrupting a lot of employment, but with it comes more, new opportunities.
In the midst of the trough of disillusionment, we have to appreciate this manifesto of sorts coming out of Google. It’s what we believe in, too--that we are only *just* scratching the surface of what AI and ML can do for, well, everything. Read this if you’re feeling like you’re you-know-where in the hype cycle and know that this is just the beginning.
Even more proof that it’s really happening. We’re actually getting over the new shiny toy phase of bots and true value is coming through. Vroom vroom!
